Bullish Trends Shoot Up NSE-ASI 1.03% Midweek

The Nigerian equities market midweek entered the third bullish session in the week, as all market performance measuring indices closed in green.
The Nigerian equities market opened week Monday in green and sustained the trend through Tuesday to midweek.
The All Share Index (ASI) appreciated by 1.03 per cent to 24,452.23. Market capitalisation rose by the same margin 1.03 per cent, to end midweek’s session at N12.74 trillion.
Total traded volume, value and number or deals recorded appreciated accordingly, while volume rose by 25.75 per cent to 427.25 million shares, value of traded stocks rose 34.52 per cent to N5.27billion, while number of deals recorded advanced 6.17 per cent to 5,079.
DANGCEM which was the second best gainer on Tuesday, emerged the highest gainer midweek, overtaking Okomuoil that maintained the position for two days, Monday and Tuesday.
The company led with N2.50 or 1.69 per cent growth in share price, to close the day at N150.00 per share, followed by ZENITH BANK with N0.65 or 4.10 per cent growth, closing at N16.50 per share, while BUACEMENT placed third on the gainers chart with N0.60 or 1.89 per cent rise in price, to end the day at N32.40 per share.
GUARANTY closed as the fourth on the top gainers chart with N0.55 or 2.36 per cent rise, ending the day at N23.85 per share, while STANBIC closed the top five gainers chart at N32.85 per share, having gained N0.55 or 2.36 per cent.
ZENITHBANK which was the third most traded stock on Tuesday, emerged the most traded midweek with 75,074,197 million shares worth N1, 217,317,238.90 billion, transacted by investors in 687 deals.
ACCESS followed with 50,760,970 million shares worth N329, 226,755.20 million and recorded in 226 deals, while GUINNESS, third on the activity chart polled 34,204,666 million shares, worth N581, 909,023.45 in 271 deals.
UBA closed fourth on the activity chart with 31,469,476million shares, valued N206, 307,719.10 million in 252 deals, while GUARANTY closed the top five active stocks chart with 31,074,709 million shares worth N740, 916,268.40 million, in 315 deals.
WAPCO led the losers’ midweek with N0.30 or 2.65 per cent, to close at N11.00 per share, followed by ACCESS with N0.05 or 0.76 per cent dip, to end the day at N6.55 per share, while UNITY bank closed as the third-highest loser with N0.02 or 3.85 per cent, to end the day at N0.50 per share.
UNIONDAC depreciated by N0.01 or 3.23 per cent, to end midweek at N0.30 per share, while WEMA bank closed the top five losers chart at N0.57 per share, the following a decline by N0.01 or 1.72 per cent.
Mid week’s least volumes
CAPOIL [MRF] closed as the least traded with 10 shares worth N2.00 in 1 deal, followed by GSPECPLC with 63 shares worth N264.60 in one deals, while AIRTELAFRI third least transacted polled 248 shares worth N79,459.20 in 5 deals.
TRANSCOHOT [BLS] closed forth with 394 shares, worth N1, 576.00, recorded in 1 deal, while ACADEMY closed the five leases traded stocks chart with 500 shares worth N150.00 posted in 1 deal.
