Deputy Speaker,Lasun urges Nigerians on peace, nation’s stability

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yussuff Suleiman Lasun has enjoined all Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace and stability in Nigeria.

He called on all Nigerians to show commitment and readiness to make sacrifice towards the development of the nation.

In a sallah message by Wole Oladimeji, his Chief Press Secretary, Lasun implored religious leaders to teach their followers the right thing to do so that they would not depart from the truth.

He commended President Mohammodu Buhari’s efforts at ensuring that the problem of insecurity is tackled and finally put to an end and urged Nigerians to cooperate with the federal government to rise up to tackle the menace.

The Deputy Speaker was of the view that insecurity should not be perceived from the religion angle but a crime against humanity.

“We all have a stake in the project Nigeria. We must shun divisive tendencies and come together against all forces of darkness that seems to be dragging us back.

“We have come a long way. We cannot at this stage play with the future of our nation. We desire peace. We need to make progress,’’ he said.

“Nigerians to be law abiding at all times and restore the virtues of good neighbourliness”, he stressed

He said, “Making sacrifice for the nation had become imperative now more than ever before, considering the numerous challenges confronting the nation”.
