Obiagwu To Succeed Tukur As Eterna CEO

Chief Operating Officer of Eterna Plc, Nnamdi Obiagwu will from September 1 takes over as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Obiagwu will succeed current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Eterna, Mahmud Tukur, who retires from the organisation on August 31, 2020.
The company, which announced this on Monday, said the outgoing MD/CEO has successfully completed a maximum tenure of 10 years.
Also, the company’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Ibrahim Boyi as Non-Executive Director from the Board.
It stated that Boyi has been called to a higher national assignment as an Executive Commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In a statement signed by its Secretary/Legal Adviser, Bunmi Agagu, Eterna said the new development was in line with the succession policy of the Company.
The newly appointed CEO, Obiagwu joined Eterna Plc in July 2017 as General Manager, Head of Lubricants and responsible for all lubricant’s activities.
He was appointed to the Board of Eterna Plc in January 2020.
He has served on the boards of several private companies, acquiring requisite experience.
Obiagwu is expected to steer Eterna through the prevailing challenges currently facing the industry.
