The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has brought together in unity the warring leaders of Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayemi held a meeting with all the Oyo APC leaders, including their representatives at the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, at his Jericho residence in Ibadan.
The meeting, which was called to amicably reconcile leaders of the party in the state, is a follow up to the one held in Abuja last week.
The Oyo APC leaders at the Sunday’s meeting include: former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala; former deputy governors, Chief Iyiola Oladokun and Chief Alake Adeyemo; Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare; former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu; Senato Adesoji Akanbi, Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Femi Lanlehin, and Senator Fatai Buhari.
Also at the Ibadan meeting are: the governorship candidate of the APC in 2019 election, Chief Bayo Adelabu; State’s APC Chairman, Mr. Akin Oke; Hon Shina Peller, Prof. Adeolu Akande, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Mrs. Yetunde Ajibola as well as representatives of groups within the state chapter of APC.
Addressing newsmen along with the leaders, Fayemi commended them for their resolve to unite for a common purpose and work towards repositioning the party in the state.
Fayemi said, “It was a fruitful meeting. I am happy all the leaders have resolved to close ranks and work together to reposition the party in Oyo State.
“The APC leaders spoke frankly at the meeting and came to the conclusion that they could achieve much by working together in unity.
“As you heard his Excellency, former governor alao-akala said, there is no vanquished. All differences have been settled, we are now a united front as a party moving strongly towards retaking Oyo State and working in the interest of progressive politics.”
