Akeredolu, Mimiko Win Polling Units
Incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu and a former governor of the State, Olusegun Mimiko delivered their polling units to the respective parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) on Saturday.
Akeredolu, APC candidate in the Ondo Governorship Election, won his Polling Unit 6 Ward 5, Isokun Ijebu in Owo with a massive 413 votes while Peoples Democratic Party’s Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede and ZLP candidate, Agboola Ajayi scored 12 and zero, respectively.
Akeredolu also emerged victorious in Polling Unit 3 Ward 5 in Owo Local Government Area and Polling Unit 9 Ward 2 Igbogin/Isikan.
In Polling Unit 3 Ward 5 in Owo Local Government Area, the APC candidate (Akeredolu) polled 300 votes as against Jegede of PDP and Ajayi of ZLP who scored 11 and 1 votes, respectively.
The PDP and the ZLP lost Polling Unit 9 Ward 2 in Igbogin/Isikan having scored 60 and 7 votes, respectively, as against the 220 votes scored by Akeredolu’s APC.
The ZLP, however, emerged winner of former Ondo State Governor, Mimiko’s Polling Unit 20 Ward 7 in Ondo West Local Government Area scoring 81 votes.
PDP candidate, Jegede came a distant second with 31 votes and APC’s Akeredolu scored 19 votes.
