Court Grants Dasuki Leave To Travel For Medicals


ustice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja has ordered the immediately release of Sambo Dasuki’s international passport.

Justice Ademola gave the order in a ruling on an application filed by Dasuki, a former National Security Adviser, seeking for an order of the court for the immediate release of the passport for an overdue medical check up.

In the order which came with a condition, Justice Adeniyi said that Dasuki must surrender the passport, within 72hours upon his return to the country.

The condition is that the embattled ex NSA must produce a surety, who must guarantee his safe return back to the country before the next adjourned date, or risk being detained till the defendant arrives.

Alternatively, any of the counsels representing the defendant should sign an undertaking to produce Dasuki in court at the next date.

The continuation of trial and ruling on secret trial of the former NSA boss was subsequently adjourned to November 26 and 27, 2015 respectively.

Sambo is standing trial over money laundering charges and illegal possession of firearms, after a search was conducted on his Abuja and Sokoto residences.
