Industrial Goods Sector Triggers N122.468bn Dip In Market Cap.
The drop in the Industrial goods sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has triggered a N122.468 billion fall in the market capitalisation of the Nigeria bourse, dropping 0.60 percent.
The industrial goods index which measures activities of companies like Dangote Cement, BUA Cement, and Lafarge Africa fell by 1.70 percent to close at 1,923.83 index point.
The NSE’s All-Share Index and Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.60 percent to close at 38,697.17 basis point and N20.246 trillion down from 38,931.25 basis point and N20.369 trillion respectively.
In effect, the ASI and market capitalisation lost 234.08 index point and N122. 468 billion during Thursday’s trading session responsibility.
Also the market turnover decreased by 54 percent, as investors moved 169.354 million shares valued at N2.119 billion in 3,568 deals as against the 368.216 million worth of shares traded at N4. 909 billion in 4,437 deals the previous trading session.
The market breadth returned positive with 23 gainers and 11 losers compared to 23 advanced stocks and 23 decliners on Wednesday.
