Babatunde Aleshinloye- Williams, a candidate for the Lagos House of Representatives, has asked his supporters to disregard the primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party held at the Somolu Secretariat (PDP).

Aleshinloye, who is running for the Somolu Federal Constituency seat, stated that because the Lagos chapter of the PDP cancelled its primaries, any primary held in the state is illegal and fraudulent sham that cannot stand and should be ignored.

According to him, “You can not build something on nothing.

The Lagos State chapter of the PDP at a news conference had urged the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to cancel the House of Assembly and House of Representatives primaries in Lagos.

“This the Chairman of the Party, Phillips Aivoji alongside other state executives, 5 governorship aspirants and party leaders said the ad-hoc delegates lists brought by the party’s electoral committees for both primaries had been compromised,” Aleshinloye- Williams said.

He stated that he was invited to the party Secretariat to discuss election modalities and that he had intended to draw the attention of the LGA chairman to the fact that the State executives had postponed the election, but was shocked to see that the election was well underway, and nearly completed.

He went on to say that the entire process was illegal because it violated the directives of the Lagos State PDP.

The House of Representatives candidate wondered how any legitimate primary election could be held without the proper delegates list and the presence of the national electoral committee.

He claimed the election was a sham, illegal, and fraudulent, and that “the election never took place as far as he was concerned.”

Aleshinloye-Williams urged his throngs of supporters and party faithful to remain focused and await the State’s directives on the assembly and representative primary elections.
