Omo-Agege Secures APC Guber Ticket in Delta
Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, has been declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta.
Omo-Agege, who received 1,190 votes, was returned unopposed by the party’s 1,235 accredited delegates at the APC governorship primaries held on Thursday in Asaba.
The deputy senate president emerged as the sole aspirant in the primaries, which were held at the Federal College of Education (FCE) in Asaba.
Oyibo Nwaneri, the APC Returning Officer, declared Omo-Agege the winner when the results were announced.
Omo-Agege expressed joy over the smooth conduct of the primaries and thanked his supporters and the entire APC family in Delta after his victory.
“Today, the APC in Delta has spoken with one voice. We may have had our differences in the past, but we have been able to reconcile ourselves.
“With my emergence as the party flagbearer for the 2023 governorship in Delta, the APC is very determined to take over the reign of affairs in Delta. He continued.
“And we are prepared to achieve that with the support of our members and the people of Delta.”
Some notable Delta APC chieftains, including Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi and O’tega Emerhor, a former APC governorship candidate, attended the party primaries.
Ngozi Olejeme, a former PDP governorship candidate who recently defected to the APC, was among those present.
