Obasa Wins APC Ticket For Sixth Term
Mr Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has secured the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to run for a sixth term in the upcoming Lagos State House of Assembly Election.
25 delegates voted, with five delegates representing each of Agege Local Government’s five wards.
Obasa, who represents Agege State Constituency 01, competed in the primaries on Friday against another aspirant, Mr Dada Olusegun, at the Maternity Centre in Iloro, Agege.
Mr Yinka Durosinmi, the party’s Electoral Officer, who announced the results, stated that Obasa received 25 votes to win the election.
Durosinmi stated that the 25 delegates who voted were made up of five delegates representing the five wards in the local government.
“Twenty-five of them were accredited before voting and we ensured that the voting exercise was conducted peacefully.
“Though we had two candidates, Mudashiru Obasa and Dada Olusegun, we only saw one agent representing Obasa. The other aspirant did not show up,” he said.
Obasa, told reporters after the exercise that he won the primary election because constituents trusted him as their true and passionate representative. described his victory as proof of his constituents’ acceptance
” I thank the constituents for the trust they have in me, as I am confident that I will win in the main election.
“Through this victory, we can continue with the dividends of democracy we have attracted to Agege,” he said.
