Moghalu Dumps ADC After Losing Presidential Ticket

Kingsley Moghalu, a presidential aspirant in the African Democratic Party (ADC), has exited the party having failed to secure the ticket in the recently concluded primary at Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Moghalu was defeated in the primaries by Roots Television owner, Nigeria’s Dumebi Kachikwu, who received 977 votes on June 8.

In the 2019 elections, Moghalu was also a presidential candidate for the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

Moghalu claimed in a letter to ADC National Chairman Chief Okey Nwosu that the election “revealed a fundamental clash of values between me and the leadership of the party.”

He stated that his resignation is effective immediately, noting that his sacrifices for the party were for an immediate gain during the primary election, and he accused Nwosu of failing to provide a level playing field, contrary to his memo to the aspirants prior to the contest.
