Layke Sets To Drop New EP July 25
Pop-driven artist, Layke is ready to drop her new Extended Playlist (EP) titled FREQUENCY, following her hit collaboration with rap icon, Snoop Dogg.
The EP will feature songs like, ‘Frequency’ ‘Help Me Out’ ‘XOXO’ ‘Holding On’ ‘Sanity’ and ‘No One Can Stop Us’’- All these songs highlight the singer’s unflinching originality and versatility.
On this Extended Playlist, the singer works with Adrian and co-writers Sarah McTaggart (Transviolet) and Brandon Colbein (Hayley Kiyoko, Jojo) including dance-party beats with edgy electronic undertones and lyrics that spotlights the enigmatic LGBTQIA+ community as well as the singer’s bi/pansexuality.
As the industry now thrives on record labels and working toward achieving picture-perfect standards, Layke (and her signature lavender-coloured hair) has created a limitless space through her music that does not conform to any societal norm but defies them all and she is ready to help people find their voice and is about to take the world by storm.
Layke is from a conservative background with Catholic roots in Dallas, Texas and she has always felt like an outsider being pansexual. Her father hails from Italy and her mom from South Africa.
The singer uses dance, music theatre, writing poetry and song lyrics as a form of self-expression and she began her career by singing backup for punk rock and in high school.
Her music is inspired by Freddie Mercury and Shirley Manson which led to her moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in singing and songwriting.
