The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, will officially begin his campaign on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The Chief Spokesman of the LP Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, made the disclosure in a terse statement on Monday night.

Tanko stated that the party had to suspend the flag-off of its campaign scheduled for October 20 due to the devastating flood that has affected at least 33 states.

He stated that the LP Presidential candidate had to visit some of the affected states and the victims before launching the campaigns.

Tanko, however, called on all party support groups and teeming supporters to make themselves available for a worthwhile campaign for the 2023 general elections.

He said, “Our presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, had to visit affected states to empathize with affected states and communities across the country.

“After his visitations, the campaign council of our great party has deemed it necessary to earnestly start the campaign from the North Central geo-political zone of Nigeria.

“We call on our support groups and teeming supporters to make themselves available for a worthwhile campaign for the 2023 general elections.”
