Samuel Eto’o gives withering assessment of his former Barcelona team-mate Thierry Henry in new documentary as he incredibly claims the Arsenal legend was ‘not on my level’… and even suggests Nicolas Anelka was a better player

Samuel Eto’o has claimed that he and Theirry Henry were not at the same level. The French striker was also not as good as Nicolas Anelka, according to Eto’o, Henry is widely regarded as the greatest Premier League striker in history.

Samuel Eto’o has sensationally claimed that he was operating on a different level to his former Barcelona team-mate Thierry Henry.

The ex-Cameroonian striker played alongside Henry for two seasons at Barca, but believes the Frenchman was not on ‘my level’.

He further claimed that the France and Arsenal record goalscorer Henry – widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time – was not even as good as compatriot Nicolas Anelka.

Eto’o’s attack on Henry surfaced after a leaked video was posted by Footballogue, and neither French striker has responded to the 41-year-old’s outlandish claims.

He said: ‘I think Thierry Henry was not at the level of Anelka.

‘Titi was good, but I knew players. I preferred other players. In any case, he was not at my level. The luck or the bad luck that I had me, was not to play for France.

‘Those who played in France had plus 70 per cent. It’s not because they were strong, but because France sells them better.
