Following the unruly behaviour of passengers in the country, the federal government on Tuesday directed all phones and portable devices on aeroplanes to be switched off on all flights in Nigeria.
The directive was given by the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, at an expanded National Civil Aviation Security Committee (NCASC).
He said henceforth phones and portable electronic devices “must be switched off and no longer on flight modes”.
Najomo warned that defaulters would be appropriately dealt with, adding that unruly behaviour by passengers on board any flight in Nigeria would no longer be tolerated.
He urged the airline operators in the country to amend their laws to reflect the new realities and submit to the Authority for immediate implementation.
