Coinbase Global Inc. has announced the acquisition of crypto investment platform Echo in a deal valued at approximately $375 million, as part of efforts to expand its presence in private markets.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the cryptocurrency exchange said the transaction will be settled through a combination of cash and stock. The acquisition will see Coinbase integrate Echo’s Sonar platform, which enables early-stage crypto startups to raise capital through self-hosted public token sales.

Echo’s platform also supports private token sales, a product that has reportedly helped projects raise more than $200 million from investment groups.

“While we’ll start with crypto token sales via Sonar, we plan to expand support to tokenized securities and real-world assets over time, leveraging Echo’s infrastructure,” Coinbase said in the announcement.

The move underscores Coinbase’s broader strategy to diversify its offerings beyond traditional crypto trading, tapping into the growing market for tokenized assets and decentralized fundraising solutions.
