Bukayo Saka is set to commit the prime years of his career to Arsenal after reportedly agreeing a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2031.

According to reports, the England international has accepted an improved five-year deal that replaces his existing agreement, which was due to expire in 2027. The new terms are said to reflect his status as one of the most influential players in the Premier League and among Europe’s elite wide forwards, although the club has not yet made a formal announcement.

While details of his salary have not been made public, Saka had previously been earning in the region of £200,000 per week. His renewal follows similar commitments from several key figures in Mikel Arteta’s squad, including William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, underlining Arsenal’s push to secure the core of their team for the long term.

The agreement also comes at a positive time personally for the 24-year-old, who confirmed his engagement to his longtime partner, Tolami Benson, late last year. The couple, who are understood to have been together since 2020, tend to keep their relationship away from the spotlight.

From a footballing perspective, Saka’s extension is a significant statement of intent from both player and club. With just over a year remaining on his old contract at the end of the current season, he would soon have been free to negotiate a move elsewhere, potentially attracting interest from Europe’s biggest sides.

A product of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, Saka joined the club at the age of seven and made his senior debut at 17. Since then, he has amassed 294 appearances in all competitions, becoming a central figure in Arteta’s project despite being hampered by intermittent injury issues over the past two campaigns.

This season, he has registered seven goals and six assists, playing a key role as Arsenal sit at the summit of both the Premier League and the Champions League league phase. In October, he also became the seventh-youngest player in league history to reach 100 Premier League goal contributions and now stands joint-fifth in Arsenal’s all-time rankings for league goal involvements, alongside Theo Walcott.
