The United States Department of Justice has released a fresh batch of investigative documents connected to the case of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, including records of interviews in which a woman accused former U.S. President Donald Trump of sexual assault.
The documents, made public on Thursday, consist of previously undisclosed records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). According to the Justice Department, the materials were not included in earlier file releases mandated by Congress because they had been incorrectly labeled as “duplicative” during previous reviews.
The newly released files detail several interviews conducted by the FBI in 2019 with a woman who alleged that she was sexually assaulted by both Epstein and Trump when she was a minor. Investigators recorded that the woman claimed the incidents occurred when she was between the ages of 13 and 15.
According to the interview summaries, the woman told investigators that Epstein once transported her to a location she believed to be either New York or New Jersey, where he introduced her to Trump. She alleged that during the encounter, Trump attempted to force her to perform a sexual act, but she resisted and bit him.
The woman further told investigators that she and members of her family received threatening phone calls over several years, which she believed were intended to pressure her into remaining silent about the alleged incidents. She said the threats were connected to Epstein and his associates.
Trump has repeatedly denied any involvement in wrongdoing related to Epstein. In earlier statements, the Justice Department had also cautioned that some materials released in connection with the Epstein investigation contain what it described as “untrue and sensationalist claims” against the former president.
The release of the documents has intensified political scrutiny in Washington. Members of the Democratic Party have accused officials within the Trump administration of attempting to conceal aspects of the Epstein investigation that could damage the former president politically.
The controversy escalated earlier this week when a committee in the United States House of Representatives voted to issue a subpoena to Pam Bondi, the U.S. Attorney General. Lawmakers are seeking her testimony regarding the Justice Department’s handling and disclosure of documents tied to the Epstein case.
Epstein, a wealthy financier who was convicted of sex offenses involving minors, died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His case has continued to draw widespread attention due to his connections with numerous high-profile figures in politics, business, and entertainment.
