Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning to Iran following a series of missile strikes on southern Israel, vowing to directly target senior figures within the country’s elite military forces.

During a visit to the town of Arad on Sunday, Netanyahu surveyed the destruction caused by an الإيراني missile strike and declared that Israel would intensify its response against Iran’s leadership and strategic assets.

“We are going after the regime and the IRGC,” he said, referring to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He added that Israel’s response would extend beyond military targets to include key installations and economic infrastructure linked to Tehran.

The visit came a day after coordinated missile attacks struck both Arad and Dimona, injuring more than 100 people and causing significant structural damage. Emergency responders reported that dozens of victims were treated for injuries, with several in critical condition.

Dimona, located in the Negev desert and widely believed to host Israel’s undeclared nuclear facility, was among the hardest hit. The strike left buildings heavily damaged and raised concerns about the vulnerability of sensitive infrastructure.

Netanyahu, addressing residents during his visit, urged strict compliance with civil defence measures, stressing that the entire country is now effectively on the frontline of the conflict. He called on citizens to immediately seek shelter whenever warning sirens are activated.

Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom confirmed that the attacks left dozens wounded across both towns, with rescue teams continuing to search through debris for survivors in the aftermath of the হাম.

Iranian state media described the strikes as retaliation for a prior Israeli attack on its nuclear facility in Natanz, signalling a deepening cycle of confrontation between the two regional rivals.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military acknowledged that its air defence systems failed to intercept the incoming missiles, stating that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the lapse. Military officials said lessons would be drawn to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The escalation marks a significant intensification of hostilities between Israel and Iran, raising fears of a broader regional conflict as both sides exchange threats and military actions.
