Zedcrest Names Ademola Akogun Investment Banking CEO
Zedcrest Group, a top player in financial services, has made a big move in its growth plans with the Board approving Ademola Akogun as the new Managing Director of Investment Banking.
Following the successful acquisition of its Issuing House license, this milestone marks a major step in expanding the company’s capabilities. Zedcrest is now set to offer comprehensive investment banking solutions, from capital raising and structured finance to advisory services.
At a press conference at Zedcrest’s Head Office in Lagos, Group Managing Director Adedayo Amzat announced that the appointment will now be subject to review by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
According to Amzat, “Ademola’s appointment marks a significant step in Zedcrest’s journey to build a world-class investment banking franchise. He brings deep market insight, extensive experience, and a proven track record in executing complex transactions. We are confident that his leadership will accelerate our growth and further enhance the value we deliver to our clients and stakeholders.”
With over ten years of experience in infrastructure finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory, Ademola Akogun joins Zedcrest after his role as Head of Financial Advisory & Debt Solutions at Quest Merchant Bank Limited. There, he led the origination and execution of complex deals across major sectors like energy, infrastructure, and financial services.

Before this, he served as Vice President of Investment at EverCorp Industries, where he oversaw investment strategy, deal structuring, and portfolio management for a diverse energy portfolio that included upstream oil and gas assets, gas distribution infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.
Ademola started his career at Vetiva Capital Management, quickly rising to Senior Analyst in the Corporate Finance/Investment Banking Division within two years. During his time there, he was instrumental in handling buy and sell-side deals across various sectors, building solid financial models, supporting capital raises, mergers, and acquisitions, and aiding strategic decisions with in-depth market and industry analysis.
He later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Nigeria) as an Assistant Manager in Corporate Finance, where he helped originate and led the execution of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and financial advisory projects across anglophone West African markets.
Akogun earned a master’s in economics with a focus on Energy and a bachelor’s in economics (Education) from the University of Lagos. He’s also completed executive and professional programs at Lagos Business School and Bocconi University, boosting his skills in infrastructure finance and strategic management.
With its expanded capabilities, Zedcrest is poised to play a more active role in shaping capital markets and supporting enterprise growth across Africa. Through its Investment Banking business, the Group will provide tailored financial solutions that enable businesses, institutions, and governments to raise capital, execute strategic transactions, and unlock long-term value across key sectors.
