A high-level delegation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday held a private meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Government House in Bauchi.

The closed-door meeting, which took place in the state capital, brought together key political figures, including APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf. However, only the three individuals were present, as other party executives and aides were reportedly excluded from the discussions.

Journalists were also barred from covering the meeting, with both Governor Mohammed and Yilwatda declining to speak to the press afterward. They described the engagement as a private political consultation, offering no details on the issues discussed.

The meeting comes at a politically sensitive time, just a day after Governor Mohammed publicly indicated interest in aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His comments followed a visit by a delegation from the party led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, suggesting possible shifts in political alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

The sequence of events has sparked speculation about ongoing realignments within Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly as key actors explore new alignments and potential party affiliations.

While no official statement was issued after the meeting, the timing and composition of the delegation have drawn attention, raising questions about possible negotiations or political consultations involving the Bauchi governor and top APC figures.
