IGP Olatunji Disu Partners with PCRC to Strengthen National Intelligence and Community Safety
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, took a decisive step toward enhancing community-led policing on Thursday by hosting a high-level delegation from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). During the courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP emphasized the critical role of civil-police collaboration in maintaining law and order across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT.
The PCRC delegation, led by National Chairman Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, formally congratulated IGP Olatunji Disu on his recent appointment. Olaniyan reaffirmed the committee’s unwavering loyalty to the Nigeria Police Force, praising the new IGP for his long-standing history of recognizing the PCRC’s strategic contributions to national security. He noted that the partnership remains a cornerstone of effective grassroots intelligence.
In a direct charge to the committee’s leadership, IGP Disu expressed deep appreciation for their sustained support but issued a firm directive regarding operational integrity. He mandated strict oversight to ensure that PCRC identification is never misused, insisting it must be used exclusively for legitimate purposes and intelligence gathering. The Inspector-General underscored that every member must remain an exemplary citizen to safeguard the credibility of this vital security partnership.
As the Nigeria Police Force continues to modernize its approach, this engagement highlights a commitment to transparency and collaborative security efforts. By bridging the gap between officers and the public, IGP Disu aims to build a more resilient intelligence network that prioritizes the safety of every Nigerian community.
