The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has published its official roadmap for the 2026 primary elections. With the presidential form set at N100 million and specific dates fixed for all elective positions, the party aims for a transparent and inclusive selection process.
The African Democratic Congress has officially released its highly anticipated timetable for the 2026 primary elections. In a statement shared on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, outlined the full schedule for selecting candidates. This move signals the party’s readiness to participate in the upcoming polls with a focus on internal democracy and order.
According to the ADC 2026 primary schedule, the sale of nomination forms will begin on 5 May and run until 10 May 2026. Aspirants must submit their completed documents by 13 May to remain eligible for the screening process. The party will then screen candidates over two days before releasing the final list of cleared participants on 20 May.
The ADC 2026 primary schedule features a rapid series of elections starting on 21 May for legislative seats. The contest for governorship tickets will follow on 22 May, while the prestigious Presidential Primary is set for 25 May. To conclude the process, a Special National Convention will take place on 27 May to ratify all successful candidates across the country.
Financial requirements were also detailed in the ADC 2026 primary schedule, with the presidential form priced at N100 million. To promote inclusivity, the party is offering a 50 per cent discount for youth and a 25 per cent discount for women and persons with disabilities. Bolaji Abdullahi urged all members to follow these guidelines strictly to ensure a transparent and orderly transition toward the general elections.
