Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Saudi Pro League goal as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Shabab 4-2 to strengthen its position at the top of the table.

The Portuguese forward reached the milestone after converting a cross from Sadio Mané with 15 minutes left in the match. The strike also marked the 971st goal of Ronaldo’s remarkable career and his 26th league goal this season.

Alongside Ronaldo’s contribution, João Félix, who joined the club from Chelsea in July, scored three times to help Al-Nassr secure an important victory. The result moved the league leaders onto 82 points from 32 matches, five points ahead of Al-Hilal.

Speaking after the game, Jorge Jesus, coach of Al-Nassr, praised Ronaldo’s attacking impact. He said: “Ronaldo is always dangerous going forward and we saw that again today.”

Attention now turns to a crucial Riyadh derby between Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, which could play a major role in deciding the Saudi Pro League title race. Al-Hilal still has three games remaining, one more than Nassr, and faces Al-Kholood before meeting its city rival.

Jesus acknowledged the importance of the upcoming clash, saying: “Now we have a derby match against our rival, which is a difficult encounter. We are fully aware of its importance, and we are dealing with it with complete focus as we know that small details could decide the result.”

Despite his impressive scoring record since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo is still chasing his first major trophy in Saudi Arabian football. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains central to the club’s title ambitions this season.

Do you think Cristiano Ronaldo can finally lead Al-Nassr to a major trophy this season?
