Shakira has revealed the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2026, titled “Dai Dai”, featuring Nigerian music star Burna Boy.

The Colombian singer shared a teaser video on Instagram on Thursday from Brazil’s famous Maracana Stadium. The track is scheduled for release on 14 May ahead of the global football tournament, which will take place across Mexico, the United States, and Canada from 11 June to 19 July.

In the promotional video, Shakira appears with dancers wearing the colours of several national teams expected to compete at the tournament. The footage also includes official match balls from the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups, highlighting the singer’s long connection with football’s biggest event.

The upcoming anthem marks another major World Cup project for Shakira, who became globally associated with tournament music after releasing “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The song became one of the most recognised football anthems worldwide.

The Latin pop star also performed “Hips Don’t Lie” during ceremonies linked to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. In 2014, she returned with “La La La (Brazil 2014)” during the tournament hosted by Brazil.

The addition of Burna Boy to “Dai Dai” has already generated excitement among football and music fans, especially across Africa and Latin America. The collaboration combines international pop and African music influences ahead of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaching, expectations are growing over whether the new anthem can match the global success of Shakira’s previous football hits.

Do you think Shakira and Burna Boy’s new World Cup song can become another global football anthem?
