Galatasaray have been crowned champions of the Turkish Super Lig for the fourth consecutive season following an impressive 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor on Saturday.
The title-clinching win in Istanbul confirmed Galatasaray’s dominance in Turkish football, as the club maintained a four-point lead over fierce rivals Fenerbahce with only one game remaining in the season.
At the centre of Galatasaray’s successful campaign was Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, whose performances throughout the season played a crucial role in helping the club secure another domestic crown and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The Istanbul giants celebrated the achievement in front of their home supporters at Rams Park after overcoming Antalyaspor in an entertaining encounter. Galatasaray had also strengthened their title charge earlier in the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Fenerbahce in a heated derby clash last month.
The latest triumph further extends Galatasaray’s record as Turkey’s most successful football club, taking their league title tally to 26. The club had previously achieved four consecutive league titles during a dominant run in the late 1990s.
Galatasaray also enjoyed an impressive European campaign this season, advancing to the knockout stages of the Champions League and recording notable victories, including a memorable performance against Juventus.
Meanwhile, disappointment continued for Fenerbahce, whose wait for a league title has now stretched to 12 years — the longest drought in the club’s history. The setback reportedly prompted the club to part ways with both their coach and sporting director shortly after their derby defeat to Galatasaray.
The title victory sparked celebrations among Galatasaray players and fans, with Osimhen receiving widespread praise for his leadership and goalscoring contributions during the championship-winning season.
