Manchester United are among 19 clubs that have officially secured qualification for the 2026/27 edition of the UEFA Champions League league phase as Europe’s domestic football seasons approach their conclusion.
United sealed their return to Europe’s elite club competition after recording a crucial 3-2 victory over rivals Liverpool FC at Old Trafford earlier this month, a result that guaranteed the club a top-five finish in the English Premier League standings.
The qualification places were confirmed following UEFA’s updated access list released on Tuesday, with 19 of the 36 clubs already assured of participation in the league phase.
Other Premier League clubs already confirmed include Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC, while additional English representatives are expected to emerge before the season concludes.

Premier League Race Intensifies
England has been allocated five automatic qualification spots for the next Champions League campaign.
While Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United have mathematically secured their places, clubs such as Liverpool FC and Aston Villa FC remain strongly positioned to qualify.
There is also a possibility that a sixth English side could qualify depending on European competition outcomes and final league standings.
Barcelona Lead Spanish Contingent
In Spain, FC Barcelona confirmed their place after clinching the La Liga title with a victory over Real Madrid CF.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Villarreal, and Atletico Madrid have all booked Champions League spots, while the race for the final Spanish qualification place remains open.
Inter, Bayern, PSG Among Champions Returning
Italian champions Inter Milan secured another Serie A crown and will participate in the Champions League for a ninth consecutive season.
In Germany, Bayern Munich continued their dominance of the Bundesliga under coach Vincent Kompany, qualifying alongside Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Lens have also secured their places from Ligue 1.
Other European Representatives Confirmed
Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven qualified comfortably from the Eredivisie, alongside Feyenoord.
Portuguese giants FC Porto are the only club from Portugal currently guaranteed a place in the league phase, while Turkish champions Galatasaray SK secured automatic qualification after winning a fourth straight domestic title.
Shakhtar Donetsk also gained direct entry into the competition following UEFA’s allocation adjustments linked to finalists in the 2026 tournament.
More clubs are expected to confirm qualification over the coming weeks as domestic league campaigns across Europe draw to a close ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup preparations.
