The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the transfer of several officers from the Edo State Police Command as part of an ongoing restructuring within the Nigeria Police Force. The directive appeared in an internal police signal dated May 12, 2026, with reference code CH: 5360/EDS/VOL.15/55. The memo stated that the redeployment also followed an earlier police communication referenced CH: 5360/FS/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.42/185 dated May 3, 2026.

According to the document, the order came from the office of the Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, Edo State Police Command Headquarters in Benin City. “The Inspector-General of Police has approved the transfer of the under listed officers out of Edo State Command as indicated against their names,” the statement read.

The memo directed all affected officers to report immediately to their new postings. DCP Grace Enobong Longe signed the signal on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command. Copies were also sent to police departments including Records, Computer and Control Room units.
