The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Barrister Rotimi Edu, a distinguished former President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
Edu, according to a statement by Olusegun Omosehin, the Commissioner for Insurance, was a towering figure in the insurance broking profession and also a visionary leader whose tenure as President of NCRIB left an indelible mark on the industry. His brilliance, foresight, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of insurance practice in Nigeria distinguished him as one of the most impactful leaders of his generation.
He was a man of uncommon intellect and boundless energy, a cauldron of ideas, and a passionate advocate for reform and innovation. Even in the face of personal health challenges, his devotion to the Council and the insurance industry remained steadfast, reflecting his deep love for the profession and his unyielding commitment to service.
The void created by his departure is immense, not only for his family and the Quicklink team but also for the NCRIB and the entire insurance community. His legacy of integrity, courage, and progressive leadership will continue to inspire generations of practitioners.
