Cristiano Ronaldo Fires Al Nassr To League Glory

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr defeated Damac 4-1 on the final day of the season to secure the Saudi Pro League title in Riyadh.

The victory ended Al Nassr’s long wait for a league crown, delivering their first domestic title since the 2018-19 campaign. It also marked Ronaldo’s first major trophy since joining the Saudi club, ending months of frustration after several missed opportunities, including last week’s AFC Champions League Two final defeat to Gamba Osaka.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after meeting a corner from Joao Felix with a well-placed header. Felix impressed throughout the first half, creating problems for the Damac defence with his movement and creativity.

Damac briefly threatened a comeback after the break when Morlaye Sylla converted a penalty in the 58th minute. However, Al Nassr quickly regained control of the match. Kingsley Coman restored the home side’s advantage after cutting inside and finishing confidently.

The game then belonged to Cristiano Ronaldo. His first goal came from a powerful free-kick from a difficult angle, with the ball travelling through a crowded penalty area before finding the net. The Portuguese captain struck again in the 81st minute after another impressive run and assist from Coman.

The Saudi Pro League title victory reflected Al Nassr’s dominance throughout the contest. The home side controlled possession, created far more chances and limited Damac to only one shot on target.

The defeat also confirmed Damac’s relegation after results elsewhere failed to help their survival hopes. For Al Nassr and Ronaldo, though, the final whistle sparked celebrations after finally capturing the Saudi Pro League title.
