Nigerian Air Force Intensifies Sambisa Air Operations

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stepped up counter-terrorism operations in Borno State, targeting terrorist hideouts and logistics facilities within the Sambisa Forest axis.

The Nigerian Air Force said its Air Component under Operation Hadin Kai carried out fresh airstrikes against terrorist strongholds in Borno State as part of ongoing efforts to weaken insurgent activities in the North-East. The operations focused on locations within the Sambisa Forest corridor, where intelligence reports identified active terrorist camps and support bases.

Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the strikes followed credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports. According to him, NAF air assets conducted precision attacks on May 26, 2026, targeting terrorist hideouts and logistics facilities at Biramiri in the Gezuwa area of Borno State.

He explained that the coordinated bombardments destroyed important terrorist structures and neutralised several insurgents operating in the area. The latest operation, he said, further weakened the operational strength of terrorist groups within the Sambisa axis.

“The intensity and precision of the ongoing air offensives have continued to generate fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis,” Ejodame said.

He added that intelligence assessments showed rising fear and growing disorientation among terrorist fighters as sustained bombardments continued to restrict their movement and deny them safe locations.

The Nigerian Air Force also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies to sustain pressure on terrorist networks while protecting civilians and restoring peace across the North-East region.
