Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori pledges strong support for President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, citing reforms, increased state revenue and development.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has declared that securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is his foremost political priority. Speaking during an interview on ARISE News in Asaba, the governor said he would actively mobilise support for the President, arguing that another term would bring greater benefits to both Delta State and the country.
Oborevwori described President Tinubu’s re-election as a project that outweighs every other political objective. “I’m begging people to vote for President Bola Tinubu. It’s my number one project. That project is bigger than any other project because it will help us achieve more for our people,” he insisted.
The governor credited the Federal Government’s economic reforms for boosting revenue available to states. He said the increase in funds had enabled his administration to undertake and complete numerous development projects across Delta State. According to him, the state now enjoys strong financial stability, allowing contractors to receive payments promptly once projects are certified.
“For the first time in the history of this state, we are not owing contractors. We don’t wait for allocation before paying contractors. Once jobs are certified, we pay. We mobilize contractors with 40 per cent and continue to fund projects as work progresses,” he said.
Oborevwori maintained that the success of these initiatives reflects the impact of the Federal Government’s policies. He argued that the improved financial position of Delta State demonstrates that the reforms are producing results.
The governor also expressed confidence in the strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State ahead of future elections. He described the mass movement of political stakeholders from the PDP to the APC as a “political tsunami”, saying extensive consultations took place before the decision was made.
Highlighting growing support for President Tinubu’s re-election, Oborevwori said many residents have embraced the APC and recognise the benefits of ongoing projects and federal policies. He added that his administration’s record of development would strengthen the party’s position in the state.
The governor concluded by expressing confidence that Deltans would back President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, insisting that the President’s reforms are delivering measurable benefits and strengthening public support across the state.
