The family of APC governorship hopeful Adebayo Adelabu has confirmed the abduction of his younger sister and her twin sons in Ibadan.

A fresh kidnapping in Ibadan has sparked concern after armed men reportedly abducted Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant Adebayo Adelabu, along with her two children. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning in the Challenge area of Ibadan South West Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the 43-year-old was travelling to drop her children at school when the attackers struck at about 7:30 a.m. The gunmen allegedly seized Mrs John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, before taking them to an unknown location.

The family described the development as deeply distressing and said security agencies were alerted immediately after the incident. Authorities have since launched investigations and begun efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the victims and arresting those responsible.

Before retiring last year, Mrs John-Paul worked at both the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian. She later relocated to Ibadan with her children while preparing to reunite with her husband, who had earlier moved to the United States.
