The operation involved the Department of State Services (DSS) and forest guards, who acted on intelligence reports in Kaga Local Government Area on Friday. Security sources said the team targeted a suspected route used by insurgent logistics networks moving through forested parts of the state.
Authorities recovered significant quantities of medical supplies, including painkillers, anti-malaria injections, antibiotics and other pharmaceutical products. Investigators believe the items formed part of a wider effort to support battlefield resupply activities for insurgent groups.
According to security sources, the shipment was allegedly linked to attempts to restock ISWAP fighters following recent intelligence-driven operations carried out by Nigerian security forces alongside US-AFRICOM. Those operations reportedly caused major disruptions and inflicted heavy losses on the group.
Officials did not disclose full operational details. However, they described the seizure as part of broader efforts to weaken insurgent logistics systems and prevent supplies from reaching remote terrorist hideouts.
