The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan following allegations that the property was used by suspected kidnappers. Officials said the action forms part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.
The demolition was carried out on Monday by personnel from the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security support provided by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force. Authorities stated that the operation was aimed at reinforcing the government’s commitment to tackling crime and dismantling facilities allegedly linked to criminal networks.

The property was reportedly connected to the abduction of Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul. The victims were allegedly kidnapped on June 3, 2026, in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan, before security operatives later secured their rescue.
According to government officials, the demolition serves as a strong warning to individuals involved in criminal activities. They stressed that properties found to have connections with kidnapping operations or other crimes would face similar action under the state’s security measures.
The Oyo State anti-kidnapping efforts have intensified in recent months as authorities seek to improve public safety and strengthen confidence in law enforcement operations.
