Middle East Peace Deal Signed
The United States and Iran signed a landmark agreement, launching talks aimed at achieving lasting regional peace.
A major breakthrough has emerged as the United States Iran peace agreement sets out a path towards ending months of conflict across the Middle East.
The United States and Iran have signed a historic memorandum designed to halt hostilities and open the door to a lasting settlement. The agreement was signed by Donald Trump during a dinner at the Palace of Versailles after the G7 summit, while Iran confirmed that its president also signed the document. World leaders, including Emmanuel Macron, witnessed the event.
The United States Iran peace agreement immediately launched a 60-day process aimed at reaching a comprehensive and binding peace accord. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who helped mediate discussions, announced that the deal had already taken effect.
A key element of the agreement is a proposed $300 billion reconstruction package to support Iran’s recovery. The initiative will focus on rebuilding infrastructure, boosting economic activity and encouraging investor confidence after months of unrest. The Middle East peace process also addresses nuclear concerns, with Iran reaffirming that it “shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons.” Discussions on enriched uranium will continue under international supervision.
The memorandum also establishes a permanent end to military operations between the parties and their allies. It states: “The United States, Iran, and their respective allies declare an immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.” Both sides pledged to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity throughout the region.
Under the United States Iran peace agreement, Washington agreed to ease sanctions, remove trade restrictions and allow Iranian oil exports. Iran, meanwhile, committed to reopening the Strait of Hormuz, helping restore commercial shipping and stabilise global energy markets.
Attention now turns to negotiations in Switzerland, where officials will work to transform this framework into a final peace settlement that could reshape diplomacy, security and economic relations across the region.
