Round of 32 Teams Confirmed at World Cup

More nations have secured their places in the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage as the race for the Round of 32 intensifies.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout picture became clearer after Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Australia booked their places in the Round of 32.

Earlier in the day, Ivory Coast and Ecuador also secured qualification with victories over Curacao and Germany, respectively. Following the conclusion of the third round of matches in Groups A, B and C, South Africa, Canada, Switzerland, Morocco, Brazil and Bosnia and Herzegovina also advanced to the next stage.

They joined Germany, France, Norway, Argentina, United States, Mexico and Colombia, who had already confirmed qualification after the second round of group matches.

A total of 24 teams will qualify automatically for the knockout stage, while the eight best third-placed teams will complete the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32. The group stage concludes on June 27, with the knockout phase beginning on June 29.
