APC Chairmen Hail Tinubu’s Lagos Infrastructure Legacy
APC chairmen applauded Tinubu’s infrastructure projects, saying they have strengthened economic growth, investment and public transport across Lagos.
APC state chairmen have praised President Bola Tinubu’s long-term vision after touring major infrastructure projects across Lagos during a three-day working visit.
The delegation, led by Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the APC State Chairmen’s Forum and Lagos APC Chairman, visited the Lekki Free Zone (LFZ) and the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line. Members from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory said Tinubu’s infrastructure projects have delivered lasting economic and social benefits while reflecting strong leadership.
Speaking during the visit to the Lekki Free Zone, Ojelabi said the project had grown into one of Nigeria’s biggest economic success stories despite early doubts. He noted that President Bola Tinubu showed foresight by creating the zone and compared the decision with the removal of fuel subsidy, describing both as bold reforms whose benefits are becoming clear. He added that the zone has increased revenue for all three tiers of government while supporting economic growth.
Ojelabi also recalled that many residents initially opposed the project because they feared losing their land. He praised the management of the Lekki Free Zone for expanding investment opportunities and revealed that about 22,000 people work in the zone, with Nigerians making up 80 per cent of the workforce. He encouraged state governments to adopt similar investment-driven models.
Forum Secretary Dr. Aliyu Bello described the visit as an important lesson in industrial development and said states should study the Lagos model to attract more investment and tackle unemployment and insecurity. Jarrett Tenebe, APC Chairman in Edo State, also described the project as one of Tinubu infrastructure projects with lasting impact.
The delegation later toured the LRMT Blue Line, where LAMATA officials explained its development and operations. Ojelabi praised the transport system as proof that consistent planning and continuity in government deliver lasting benefits. The group also visited the Oba of Lagos’ palace, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Lagos Deep Sea Port, and Eko Atlantic City.
