Defence Minister Orders Immediate Action Against Bandits

Defence Minister Christopher Musa has directed security personnel to act immediately against bandits and terrorists once deployed, warning against delays in operations.

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has instructed security operatives to immediately engage bandits and terrorists whenever they are deployed, saying officers should not wait for additional approval before taking action. He gave the directive on Wednesday in Sokoto State during the commissioning of 62 operational vehicles and other security equipment valued at ₦27.1 billion, purchased by the state government to strengthen security operations.

Addressing the troops, Christopher Musa said, “Once you’re are deployed do not wait for any order from anybody to to sh++t any bandit or any t+rrorist.

I want to make that very loud and clear; anybody who refuses to sh++t or k+ll any bandit or t+rrorist in the name of waiting for an order, we will treat you like a bandit.”

The Defence Minister also urged personnel to protect and properly maintain the newly acquired security equipment, highlighting the significant financial commitment made by the Sokoto State Government to improve security across the state.

He reminded officers that the equipment represented a major public investment that could have been directed to other sectors. According to him, maintaining the vehicles and other assets is essential to ensuring they remain effective in supporting security operations.

Musa said, “It is important for those that will handle this equipment, these equipment cost billions of naira that could have been used for other aspects but have been dedicated to this.

So I want to charge you that you must maintain this equipment very well. We will come after a year to see how these equipment are doing.”

The newly commissioned vehicles and equipment are expected to strengthen the operational capacity of security agencies working to address insecurity in Sokoto State.
