Jannik Sinner delivered a stunning performance to defeat Novak Djokovic and secure his place in the final against Alexander Zverev.

World No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner produced a commanding display against seven-time winner Novak Djokovic, defeating the Serbian 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 20 minutes. The victory marked Sinner’s second straight win over Djokovic at the tournament and set up a final meeting with German star Alexander Zverev on Sunday.

The Sinner Djokovic match showed the Italian at his best, as he controlled the contest with powerful serving and consistent play. Sinner recorded 16 aces, won 88% of his first-serve points, and claimed 61% of points on his second serve in what became a serving masterclass.

Djokovic, a 39-year-old champion with seven titles at the event, admitted he struggled to match Sinner’s level. He described the defeat as “a good old blow out” and said he was “half a step late” for every shot.

The Serbian managed only one break-point opportunity throughout the match, and it arrived in the third set. Sinner immediately erased the chance with an ace before producing an impressive smash and another ace to regain control.

Reflecting on the Sinner Djokovic match, Djokovic said: “I was feeling physically fine,” and added, “Maybe not the freshest, like at the beginning of the tournament, but I was all right. He [Sinner] was much better and the dominant force. You just have to hand it to him and say, ‘congrats, well done’.”
