BUA Foods Shareholders Approve ₦504bn Dividend Payout, Hail Record Performance

Shareholders of BUA Foods Plc have approved a final dividend of ₦28 per ordinary share of 50 kobo, amounting to a total payout of ₦504 billion, following the company’s record-breaking financial performance for the 2025 financial year.

The approval was granted at the company’s 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Abuja on Wednesday, where investors commended the board, management, and staff for delivering another year of strong earnings growth and exceptional returns to shareholders.

Presenting the company’s performance, the Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, said revenue rose 18 per cent to ₦1.77 trillion from ₦1.53 trillion, while profit after tax jumped 91 per cent to ₦518 billion, driven by strong growth across its major product segments and improved consumer demand.

Shareholders praised the board for raising the dividend to ₦28 per share, more than double the ₦13 per share declared for the previous financial year.

Speaking on behalf of the  shareholders, Adio Alex described the results as outstanding and applauded the board’s commitment to rewarding investors.

“I want to begin my comments by commending the board, management and staff of BUA Foods Plc for delivering another outstanding financial performance in 2025. The impressive growth in revenue, profitability and shareholders’ returns is highly commendable,” he said.

Another shareholder, Patrick Ajudua, described BUA Foods as one of the country’s best-performing companies, citing its market price of about ₦940 per share and its uninterrupted dividend payments over the past five years. He applauded the board for recommending a dividend that effectively distributes the company’s earnings to shareholders, describing the gesture as a reflection of management’s confidence in the business and commitment to investor value.

“It is not in doubt that we have one of the best companies called BUA Foods Plc. Best in terms of market value, now at about ₦940 per share. Best in terms of consistent dividend payments for five years,” Ajudua said.

The dividend recommendation of ₦28 per ordinary share of 50 kobo, representing a total payout of ₦504 billion to shareholders on the register of members at the close of business on June 4, 2026, was subsequently moved, seconded and unanimously approved by shareholders.

The strong shareholder endorsement underscores growing investor confidence in BUA Foods, which has continued to strengthen its position as one of Nigeria’s leading fast-moving consumer goods companies through sustained earnings growth and an attractive dividend policy.
