APC’s Ambo to Launch Youth Enterprise Grant for Business Ideas, Startups

 

Ashiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All-Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in next Saturday’s Osun gubernatorial election, has pledged to establish a youth-focused enterprise grant to support innovation, business ideas, and startups—aimed at empowering the state’s vibrant young population.

 

Oyebamiji, popularly known as Ambo, also announced plans to set up skill acquisition hubs across Osun State, providing training and support in ICT, software development, renewable energy, agribusiness, and vocational trades. He emphasised that opportunities in the digital economy would receive priority attention under his administration.

 

Speaking at the “Youth Interactive Session with Ambo” on Saturday—a forum attended by youths from all 31 local government areas—Ambo described young people as the heartbeat of any country and stressed the need to nurture them for the nation’s development.

 

“We will institute internship, apprenticeship, and job placement programs in partnership with the private sector,” he stated, reflecting on his own youth and how most of his achievements were made during that period. “That’s why I don’t joke with youths,” he said.

 

Ambo assured participants that his administration would prioritise even development across all sectors of the state, with youth empowerment as a central focus.

 

“As a father, professional, entrepreneur, and farmer—and as the APC candidate in the forthcoming governorship election—I commend you for your resilience in the face of current neglect in Osun. It is a sorry case for every phase of our development, especially for the youth demographic,” he said.

 

He urged Osun youths not to lose hope, promising practical solutions to the challenges they face. “Under my leadership, Osun will experience a new era. We will work for you and make you happy,” Ambo assured.

 

He further promised to work hard on youth entrepreneurship and innovation programs, expanding opportunities in sports, entertainment, and the creative industries to drive youth engagement and employment. He also pledged to reintroduce temporary employment programs in public works, traffic management, and sanitation, both to improve public infrastructure and to create a safer environment for all.

 

In closing, Ambo urged the youths to “vote for competence, vote for progress, vote for a sound tomorrow,” promising to work for them and stand by the mandate entrusted to him.
