Muslim World League Chief Arrives Abuja for Security Conference
Mohammed Al-Issa arrives in Abuja for a major conference focused on security, national unity and sustainable socio-economic development.
Muslim World League Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Issa has arrived in Abuja ahead of an international conference on security and national unity.
Al-Issa arrived in Nigeria on Monday with his delegation for the conference, scheduled for Tuesday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The Saudi delegation was received at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate; Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu; and other dignitaries.
The conference is organised by Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) Nigeria in partnership with the Muslim World League of Saudi Arabia. It is themed, ‘International Conference on Security for Sustainable Socio-economic Development.’
The event will bring together religious leaders, government officials, experts and other stakeholders to examine security challenges and their impact on development.
Garbadeen Mohammad, Chairman of the conference’s Media and Publicity Committee, described Al-Issa as a key participant and co-host. He said the discussions would extend beyond religious matters to include socio-economic development, religious inclusion, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
“The fact that it is an Islamic-based organisation does not mean that it is strictly for Islamic development. It is for the development of mankind, humanity as a whole,” Mohammed said.
The Abuja security conference will also examine terrorism, armed banditry, community resilience and strategies for achieving lasting peace. Participants are expected to exchange ideas and build partnerships through plenary sessions, expert discussions and global partnership roundtables.
Mohammad said the Abuja security conference would provide a platform for stakeholders to explore practical approaches to peace and sustainable development.
The Abuja security conference is expected to attract participants from different religious and ethnic backgrounds.
