Guinness Nigeria Strengthens Balance Sheet, Eyes Growth
Guinness Nigeria posted stronger profits and a healthier balance sheet in H1 2026, positioning the business for its next growth phase.
Guinness Nigeria is entering a stronger growth phase after reporting higher profits, lower debt and continued investment across its business.
The company recorded about N265 billion in revenue for the six months ended 30 June 2026, while profit after tax rose 53% to N25.3 billion.
The results reflect Guinness Nigeria’s focus on achieving sustainable growth while improving efficiency and strengthening its finances. The company said its progress has also created a stronger base for future investment in its brands, manufacturing operations and route to market.
A major part of the improvement came from efforts to reduce debt and rebuild the company’s balance sheet. Shareholders’ equity increased from N43.3 billion to N64.2 billion during the period. At the same time, net debt fell sharply from about N37 billion to roughly N19 billion.
The company shared the update during its H1 2026 Investors and Analysts Call. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Girish Sharma, Finance and Strategy Director Mayank Kabra, and Corporate Relations and Legal Director Rotimi Odusola discussed the company’s financial results, strategic priorities and outlook.
Sharma said the stronger financial position would give Guinness Nigeria greater room to pursue growth and improve returns.
“We have made significant progress in strengthening our financial position while continuing to invest in the growth of the business. The days of operating with a weak balance sheet are behind us. Today, we are in a much stronger position to pursue growth, improve returns and create sustainable value for our shareholders and other stakeholders.”
The company said the progress marks an important shift in its financial position. With lower debt, stronger equity and improved profitability, Guinness Nigeria believes it is better placed to invest in its operations while creating long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders.
The company’s performance also highlights the impact of its continued focus on operational efficiency and quality growth. Its latest results suggest that Guinness Nigeria is now moving into its next phase with a more resilient balance sheet and greater capacity to support its business ambitions.
Can Guinness Nigeria maintain this stronger financial performance as it enters its next phase of growth?
