AXA Mansard Expects N25.23bn Operating Expenses in Q4 2026
AXA Mansard expects strong Q4 insurance revenue, but operating costs and investment income will shape its projected profit.
AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has projected operating expenses of N25.23 billion for the fourth quarter of 2026, against an expected insurance revenue of N185.45 billion, as the insurer targets N11.85 billion in profit after tax for the period.
The earnings forecast submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Group indicates that operating expenses would account for about 13.6 per cent of projected insurance revenue, highlighting the cost base expected to be absorbed by the insurer during the quarter.
AXA Mansard projects an insurance service result of N21.35 billion from its core insurance operations, while net investment and other income is expected to contribute a further N18.72 billion.
The investment and other income projection is equivalent to about 87.7 per cent of the forecast insurance service result, underscoring the expected contribution of investment-related earnings to the company’s overall profitability.
The company is forecasting profit before tax of N13.94 billion and profit after tax of N11.85 billion for Q4 2026, after projected taxation of N2.09 billion.
The relationship between the projected insurance service result and operating expenses will be a key earnings indicator for investors, given that the N25.23 billion operating expense forecast is higher than the N21.35 billion insurance service result.
However, the projected N18.72 billion in investment and other income provides an important earnings offset, supporting the company’s overall pre-tax profit outlook.
On the liquidity front, AXA Mansard expects to generate N13.73 billion in cash flow from operating activities during the quarter. This is expected to be more than offset by N15.83 billion in investing cash outflows, resulting in a projected net decline of N2.09 billion in cash and cash equivalents.
The insurer expects to begin the period with cash and bank balances of N39.56 billion and close the quarter with N37.46 billion.
For capital-market investors, the Q4 forecast therefore points to three key areas to monitor: the ability of the insurer to convert projected insurance revenue into service earnings, the impact of its operating cost base on margins, and the extent to which investment income supports bottom-line growth.
