vivo X Fold6 Global Launch May Be Near
A global vivo X Fold6 prototype has appeared on Geekbench, hinting that the foldable phone's international launch could be close.
The vivo X Fold6 global launch could be approaching after a prototype of the foldable phone appeared on Geekbench.
vivo launched the X Fold6 in China in June, but the company has yet to bring the device to international markets. That wait may soon be over, with a global prototype now showing up in a Geekbench test.
The device carries the model number V2559 and recorded 1,710 points in single-core performance and 5,977 points in multi-core performance on Geekbench 7.0.0 for Android. However, these results should be treated with caution because the phone tested was still a prototype.
The benchmark does confirm one important detail. The global X Fold6 will reportedly use the same MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset as the Chinese version. The tested unit also came with 12GB of RAM, although vivo could introduce additional memory options when the phone officially launches.

Software could be one of the biggest differences between the two versions. The Chinese X Fold6 launched with Android 16, while the global model is expected to arrive with Android 17 installed from the start. It will also run vivo’s upcoming OriginOS 7 software.
The Chinese model already offers a strong set of specifications. It features an 8.02-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with a 2312 x 2504 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display measures 6.51 inches and uses LTPO AMOLED technology, with a 1120 x 2528 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. On the back, the phone has a 200MP main camera with OIS, supported by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom. A 50MP ultrawide camera completes the rear setup.
The phone also features a 20MP selfie camera on the main display and a 20MP cover selfie camera. Keeping everything running is a sizeable 7,000mAh battery, which supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
With its powerful chipset, large battery, high-resolution cameras and two 120Hz displays, the X Fold6 has the hardware to compete strongly in the growing foldable smartphone market. The move to Android 17 on the global model could make the international version even more appealing.
Still, vivo has not officially announced the global release date, pricing or final configurations. For now, the Geekbench appearance is another sign that the vivo X Fold6 global launch may not be far away.
Would you consider the vivo X Fold6 if vivo brings it to your market?
