2027: Defence Minister Mobilises Kaduna Support for Tinubu, Uba Sani
The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd.), has intensified grassroots mobilisation in Kaduna State for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 general elections.
Musa made the call in Kaduna while meeting local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilisation structure established to canvass support for the second-term bids of Tinubu and Sani.
The meeting brought together the movement’s leadership, coordinators from the 23 local government areas of the state and representatives of more than 300 affiliated support and interest groups.
The minister urged members of the group to remain committed to mobilising voters for Tinubu and Sani, stressing that unity and determination were essential to achieving national development.
“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” Musa said, urging Nigerians to remain determined to build a stronger country.
He also called for religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, recalling his childhood experiences in Sokoto State, where he said Muslims and Christians lived together and participated in one another’s social and religious activities.
“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said, recounting how he participated in Sallah celebrations with his Muslim friends and neighbours.
According to him, such experiences underscored the importance of maintaining the bonds of friendship and community across religious and ethnic divides.
Musa said Nigeria possessed abundant human and material resources capable of transforming the country if citizens remained united and committed to national development.
“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” he said.
He therefore urged members of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027 and other Nigerians to see nation-building as a collective responsibility.
The minister’s engagement with the grassroots coordinators is expected to strengthen the movement’s mobilisation structures across Kaduna ahead of the 2027 elections.
The National Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Polycarp Gankon, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Kaduna State, commended Musa for his support and direct engagement with the coordinators.
Gankon described the minister’s visit as a major boost to the group’s mobilisation efforts and its campaign for the re-election of Tinubu and Sani.
