Air Peace, United Nigeria Top August Flight Delays
NCAA data shows Air Peace and United Nigeria recorded the highest number of domestic flight delays in August 2026.
The August flight delays report from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has placed Air Peace and United Nigeria at the top of Nigeria’s domestic airline disruption figures.
The NCAA released the information on Sunday through its official X account, sharing a summary of domestic flight operations for August 2026. The report showed that 15 airlines operated 7,961 flights during the month.
However, passengers faced widespread schedule changes. The data indicated that 4,765 flights experienced delays, while airlines cancelled another 36 services. This means that roughly six out of every ten flights failed to operate on time.
Air Peace recorded the highest number of flights during the period. The airline operated 1,864 services and reported 1,330 delays. These disruptions represented 71.4 per cent of its total operations.
The NCAA’s figures also identified United Nigeria among the airlines with the highest number of delayed domestic services. The agency presented the information as part of its wider review of airline performance and flight disruption across the country.
The August flight delays highlight the scheduling challenges faced by passengers using Nigeria’s domestic aviation network. Although airlines completed thousands of services during the month, the large number of late departures affected travel plans for many customers.
The regulator’s report covers flight activity by 15 carriers, which accounted for 59.9 per cent of the operations recorded during the month. It provides an overview of how often domestic flights ran late or faced cancellation.
As the NCAA continues to monitor airline performance, the August flight delays are likely to remain important to passengers comparing service reliability across domestic carriers.
