NACCIMA President Jani Ibrahim Elected FEWACCI President
Nigeria’s private sector leadership has secured a key position in West Africa’s regional business community following the election of the President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Jani Ibrahim, as President of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI).
FEWACCI is a regional body representing chambers of commerce and industry across West Africa, with a focus on promoting business cooperation and facilitating economic integration.
The statement was signed by NACIMA’s Director-General, Engr. Olusola Obadimu, FNS, FCIoD.
Ibrahim, who holds the traditional title of OON, was elected on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, following a keenly contested election, according to a statement issued by NACIMA.
His election is expected to strengthen cooperation among chambers of commerce across the West African sub-region, promote intra-African trade and advance policies aimed at supporting private sector growth and regional economic integration.
In his new role, Ibrahim is expected to work towards strengthening partnerships among business organisations, improving trade relations and championing policies that support enterprise development and shared economic prosperity across West Africa.
NACIMA described his emergence as a significant milestone for Nigeria and the organised private sector, noting that the development would provide an opportunity for stronger regional engagement and sustainable economic development.
The association also said Ibrahim’s election reinforces Nigeria’s leadership position in regional commerce, with expectations that his tenure would usher in a new phase of purposeful engagement among West African business communities.
