Pep Guardiola will announce imminently that he has decided against signing a new contract at the club he has coached for three seasons, and Bayern have already lined up his successor.

There were rumours on Friday that Ancelotti had accepted €15 million (£11m) a season to take charge of the Bundesliga champions in the event that Guardiola would depart. And with that now appearing to be a certainty, with an announcement expected after Bayern take on Hannover in their final game before the international break,

The Guardian says Ancelotti has agreed a “contract in principle” to take charge at the end of the season.

The paper reports:

” Ancelotti’s representative and Bayern have been discussing the finer details of the contract, which is for three years, over the past few days but there is nothing to suggest that it will not be finalised. Bayern play Hannover on Saturday afternoon and are expected to announce that Guardiola is leaving on Sunday although the Spaniard may well make the announcement himself after the game.”
